Katina Lugo is the Assistant State Registrar and Chief for Vital Records in Arizona. She has been married for 23 years and is the mother of two boys, ages 21 and 18. Her public health career began while she was attending Northern Arizona University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health Education. She went on to work for municipalities and non-profits while completing her Master’s Degree in Organizational Management in 2003.

Katina joined the Arizona Department of Health Services in 2004, serving as a Licensing Surveyor for Childcare for 15 years. She transitioned to the Vital Records team in 2019, where she currently serves as the ASR & Chief and is also a Certified Fraud Examiner. She is passionate about Vital Records and embraces the complexities and responsibilities that come with the field.
