
On July 21, 2022, Representatives Lauren Underwood (D-IL), Ami Bera (D-CA), Kathy Castor (D-FL), and Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) introduced the Improving DATA in Public Health Act. This bill gives explicit authority to the CDC to collect public health data directly from health care providers, laboratories, state and local public health departments, and other entities, as necessary.
